Richard di Santo (b. 1976)

Richard di Santo is an artist, writer and publisher living in Toronto. His current visual work focuses on minimalist expressions of form and colour, with a view to discovering a kind of entry point for the viewer. This point is less a precise object, representation or punctum to be found in the composition; instead, it is an invitation, an unforeseen echo of Eckhart: “When the soul wants to experience something, she throws out an image before her and then steps into it.” It is that ‘stepping into the image’ that he is most intent on exploring, and the unique experience that this movement invites, through the fragility of paper, the vibrations of colour, and the simplicity of form.

He is also the founder of Object Press, a publishing house committed to international literary fiction.
